MABEL SETH HOME FIRST Captures Fifth and Feature Race of Huntingtons Friday Card — Muddy Track. HUNTINGTON, W. Va.. April 9. -E. E. Major scored his first success of the meeting when Mabel Seth took the measure of the best field of the day at the Pair Orounds this afternoon in capturing the fifth and feature race. After following in close pursuit of Panorel and Dust Klower to the stretch, th e Seth filly moved into the lead when straightened out and held her opponents safe in the final eighth. Panorel was an easy second and Verbena got up in time to beat the tiring Dust Mower Cor third. Following yesterdays rain, the races were run over a muddy track, but weather conditions were favorable and the attendance showed improvement. Old Top made it three in a row here when he showed the way by a comfortable margin throughout the fourth race. He changed hands for the third time via the claiming routs, going to Mrs. Lillian Try. The halter men were more active than usual. Mabel Seth also found a new owner, going to A. It. Aldrich. and Arragosa went to the stable of W. J. Waterman after scoring a handy victory in the sixth race, in which he led by a comfortable margin at all stages. In a hard drive Lizzie N. outgamed Set Court for second money. Displaying the most speed throughout, Helen of Troy was never seriously threatened during the running of the initial race. Turning for home, Lottie Loraine appeared to have the second race at her mercy, but Orphelin finished courageously on the outside in the stretch and got up to beat the pacemaker by a narrow margin. Dukedom proved easily best of those starting in the third and drew away with little effort when straightened out in the stretch.
