DIAVOLO OUT OF SUBURBAN NEW YORK N Y May 28 Diavolo champion stayer of last year owned by the Wheatley Stable will not be a starter in the Suburban Handicap Friday James Fitz simmons announced yesterday that he decided to pass up this old prize for the reason that the son of Whisk Broom II had a slight swelling on his knee and that while he hoped the ailment was in no sense serious he had decided to stop training Diavolo for at least a few days The knee did not look exactly right to Fitzsimmons when he was preparing him for his work in the morning and with so many big chances for the horse later in the year he decided to take no chance With the elimination of Diavolo the greatest rival i of George D Wideners Jack High for the prize becomes eliminated
