W. R. COE HEADS OWNER LIST New York and Wyoming Owners Horses Earn 0,100 at Spa. 1 Saratoga Distributes 13,830 in Thirty Days Ladysman Leading Money-Winning Horse With 2,425. Saratoga, as usual, staged one of the outstanding meetings of the year during August, beginning on the first day of the month and ending September 3, a total of thirty racing days. One hundred and eighty-one races were decided, and 13,830 distributed, a daily average of 3,794.33. The usual stake a day policy of the Saratoga association was carried out. W. R. Coe, who has had probably his biggest year as an owner and breeder, was the leading money-winning owner, with 0,-100 to his credit, the result of nine firsts, five seconds and seven thirds. The Glen Riddle Farm of Samuel D. Riddle was second, with 0,900, and C. V. Whitney had a usual Whitney position among the leaders, his horse earning 2,930. The Belair Stud and the Greentree Stable also fared well in money won. Ladysman, outstanding two-year-old development of the year, added the rich Hopeful Stakes to his list of victories and headed the list of money-winning horses with 2,-425. i In addition he won the United States Hotel Stakes and the Grand Union Hotel I Stakes, the Hopeful returning 1,400 to his owner, the Grand Union 0,150 and the United States 0,875, making possible his magnificent total. War Hero, victor in the Travers Stakes and Saratoga Gold Cup, was second, with 4,575, and is the answer as to why Mr. Riddles colors figured so prominently at the Spa this year. Happy Gal took the measure of Ladysman on one occasion and was third to the Coe star and War Hero in matter of money won, with 7,625. Top Plight won one race, the Alabama Stakes, and thereby earned 2,225. Equipoise was another stakes winner, taking the ! Wilson and Whitney Stakes. I Silvio Coucci was the leading rider in 1 . number of winners; Workman was the leader in percentage. Coucci rode twenty-1 three victorious horses from a total of 111 mounts. Workman rode nineteen winners out of fifty-five mounts and had a percentage of .35. Couccis average was .21. Hank Mills did not fare so well when hej piloted only seven winners out of ninety-two mounts for a percentage of .08. Willie Brennan, who is training the Green-tree horses, headed the trainers list, saddling ten winners. G. Conway and B.
