INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGNER Special Correspondence. MILAN, Italy Despite the fact that he carried a welter burden and lost several lengths at the start, Italys champion four-year-old Sanzio, with the Irish jockey Pat Donoghue in the saddle, was good enough to win the eleven furlongs Premio Laveno here. Sanzios reappearance on the Italian turf after his successful invasion at Ostend, where he won the coveted Grand International Stakes and the Omnium, aroused widespread interest. Sanzio, in his next start,- will carry the silks of his partnership owners, Count Luchino Visconti and Gui-seppe Radice Fossati, in the Prix de lArc de Triomphe at Longchamps, October 9, and will be ridden by Pat Donoghue, who has taken a retainer from these Italian sportsmen. Sanzio, bred by the famous Italian breeder; F. Tesio, is a son of the 1923 Derby winner Papyrus, from Scuola dAtene, by Bayardo, from Spring Chicken, by Gallinule. He did not race as a two-year-old. He won his only start in 1931, and is the idol of the current season because of his success in the Premio Milano and Grand International Prix de Ostende.
