1 LAUREL PARK TURF NOTES $ 4 Horsemen are advised that nominations for the 1934 running of the Selima Stakes close Monday, October 24, with race secretary Jack Campbell. This stake carries 0,-000 added money. Jockey Paul Neal packed his tack and departed last night for Sportsmans Park, Illinois. There are twenty-six horses on the schooling list with the adding of Crazy Jane. John Bosley, Jr., states that lie intends to dispose of part of his stable before heading for one of the winter tracks. He has thirty-six .horses in training, including twenty-two steeplechasers. E. R. Bradleys good steeplechaser Barometer schooled well through the field this morning in preparation for the ,000 Chevy Chase Steeplechase, two-mile feature to be run one week from tomorrow. Jockey W. Todd made his first appearance since being injured last week. He plans to return to the saddle Thursday. Johnny Gilbert, Buddy Hanford and Bobby Jones were tied with four winners each when Wednesdays sport opened. Willie Winfrey, who saddled Negopoli in todays opening dash, is probably the youngest trainer now holding a license here. He has just passed his seventeenth birthday. J. W. "Big Jim" Healy will ship Mrs. John Hay Whitneys string to Bennings at the conclusion of the Bowie meeting. He will then make a division to be shipped to the winters racing at Joseph E. Wideners picturesque course at Hialeah Park, Fla. Trainer Bennett Creech decided this morning to ship W. R. Coes Old Baldy out to Latonia. Ky for a try at the Breeders Futurity Saturday. Jockey L. Knapp will accompany Old Baldy and handle the chestnut son of Polymelian and Eagles Nest. It may be that Pomposity will accompany Old Baldy.
