Fitzgerald, steward representing the Illinois Racing Commission. The new policy went into effect yesterday, t when tests were taken of the winner of the e first race — the Audley Farms Tiny Kitty — _ and the winner of the eighth race — M. J. r Beauchamps American Smile. No irregularity .* was implied in the taking of either test, nor will it be implied in the taking of the e two daily tests in the future. The move has no significance other than that it marks the adoption of a standard method for making saliva tests. Previously the stewards have ordered saliva tests taken only when there were suspicious circumstances surrounding the racing of a horse. Whenever there is any reason for suspicion in the future, saliva tests will be ordered as before. These will be in addition to the two formal tests made dairy.
