ALL NIGHT, fractious at the barrier, was placed on the outside for the start, broke fast, opened a commanding lead at once and was never menaced. BLAKE, always close up while under mild restraint, was out to a drive in the final quarter and, continuing gamely, outgamed FRIEND TOM. The latter saved ground jp the early stages and came to the outside for the final drive, but was not good enough. SUN WAY lacked easts speed. FOXIE SIS finished well. SONG HIT, away well, was rushed into the lead at once, was in hand rounding the far turn, responded when slightly urged in the last sixteenth and held GALAPAN safe. The latter came wide turning into the Stretch, responded to urging, but was unable to reach the winner. GURGLER finished gamely on the inside and had no excuses. DARK SEEKER raced on the outside of the winner in the early stages and tried to slip through on the inside, but was unable to secure clear racing room and was in close quarters in the final stndev BATT1 ING KNIGHT, away well, dropped out of it after reaching the half mile post. MICA, reserved in the early stages, came to the outside when called on turning into the stretch and, showing good speed when urged, took the lead seventy yards from the finish and withstood BUG HUNTER. The latter, away fast, showed good speed reaching the back stretch, was taken in hand till the far turn, weakened reaching the final eighth, but came again when strongly urged and was going gamely at the 4ml. NORTHERN SIR forced the pace Horn the start and had no excuses in the final drive. BEN MINTURN, unprepared at the start, was allowed to settle into his best stride in the back stretch and finished resolutely. GULFELANO was through after a half mile. Scratched— 97853 Aurebon, 107.
