H., July 3.— Rockingham Park is all dressed up and prepared to receive its largest crowd in celebration of the Fourth ot Jury with a card of eight good races. The New Hampshire Breeders Association, Inc., has arranged the Independence Day Handicap as the bright and particular feature of the program. The Independence Day Handicap, one of the richest prises of the current meeting, carries an added value of ,500. A field of nine has been named through the entry box. F. A. Griffiths Sarada and Dark Winter, from the W. S. Kilmer establishment, are held in equal esteem by racing secretary H. D. "Jimmy" Monroe, and are at the top of the list with 116 pounds. The weight then drops twelve pounds to 104, the weight assigned W. H. Gallaghers Star Fire. Sunador, which will serve as a running mate for Dark Winter and race coupled as the W. S. Kilmer entry, has been nicely treated by the handicapper and is asked to tote 100 pounds. Collateral, the hope of the C. V. Whitney establishment, is next in line with 97 pounds, one more than J. B. Belks Flaming Mamie has been assigned. The light weights of the company are Old Depot, Piety and Grey-i glade, held at the same notch of 95 pounds. Each of the contestants have come up to the race in splendid style and, with the field so weighted, it should result in one of the outstanding events of the meeting. One of the most impressive moves of those named was the mile trial of Collateral, which ran the distance in 1:39%. Greyglade has had several useful mile works in preparation for this engagement The Sir Greysteel filly was sent her first mile last Saturday and went the eight furlongs in 1:43 and followed this up with a slower move of a mile in 1:45. Dark Winter has a mile work to his credit in 1:41%, while Sunador has all his speed as is attested by his recent hah* mile trial in :48%. Piety was sent a nrHe in 1:40% and followed this up with a speed trial of a half mile in :48%. As a secondary feature, the Canobie Lake Handicap will be offered. The sprint affair engages such sterling sprinters as Gold Step, Chinese Empress, Universe, Flying Sailor, Roustabout, Rrdgeview, Black Hand and Teralice. The field for the Independence Day Handicap, with weights and jockeys, is as follows: Horse. Wt. Jockey.
