CONFER WITH COMMISSION Peter B. and William P. Kyne Scheduled to Submit List of Bay Meadows Officials. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 3.— Peter B. Kyne, president and William P. Kyne, general manager of the California Jockey Club, which is building the Bay Meadows track near San Mateo, will go to Los Angeles Thursday to meet the State Racing Commission and discuss the officials, stakes and purses for the fall meeting. Judge C. J. FitzGeralds name will be submitted by the Kynes for approval of the commission for the post of presiding steward. Peter Clark will be recommended for associate steward, while J. K. Macomber is expected to fill the position of steward representing the racing board. The position of starter rests between Harry Morrissey, Marshall Cassidy and Roy Dickerson. FitzGerald is one of the leading officials of the American turf and presides at several of the large eastern tracks, while Clark is probably the oldest racing official in point of service in the country. He has been connected with racing in California for the last forty years and has been with William P. Kyne for fifteen years. The three candidates for the starters job all hold positions at eastern tracks and are highly respected for their work. However, they are not new to the West Coast, as all three have served at Tanforan and Agua Caliente. All other positions will be filled by Cali-fornians. While he favors giving Catiforni-ans preference, the general manager stated he is anxious to obtain the best qualified man possible for every post, and for this reason was forced to go East for his choice I of presiding steward and starter. Plans for a minimum claiming price of ,000, a minimum purse of 3700, and a number of stake races, including a 325,000 handicap, will be discussed at the meeting. While in the South the Kynes will confer j with officials of the Los Angeles Turf Club ; in regard to co-operating in a campaign to j i attract large eastern stables to the West I Coast. The Los Angeles meeting will follow Bay Meadows.
