INTERPRETER was outrun early and never threatened. THE BAILIFF showed a bit of speed on the back stretch, but quit badly in the last quarter and turned in a weak effort. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. AGGIE STAR went to the front rounding the first turn, held a short lead over ONO while having the latter in close quarters on the back stretch and, drawing away on the far turn, withstood several challenges, from ONO in the stretch run and won narrowly under good riding. ONO, probably best, was in close quarters on the back stretch and forced back a trifle on the far turn, then came to the outside of the winner on the stretch turn but was carried wide and, finishing well, barely missed. ROCK CARGO closed ground to finish well. VAGABOND could not keep up. FLYING ATOM was done after making a brief move on the back stretch. SUNNY BOB was never dangerous. Corrected weight Sunny Bob, 112; Flying Atom, 112.
