LOTOFUS, fractious at the start and away well, was shuffled back soon afterward, responded to good urging nearing the last turn, came to the inside for the drive and finished strongly. BONNIE DREAM, well up from the start, was shuffled back entering the stretch and came strongly when clear. OUR PATTY raced wide. GRANDMAS BOY raced evenly. MARCHLINE quit. The others showed nothing. SASSENACH, used up in setting the pace, tired rapidly in the last eighth. CONTRAST, never far back and forced wide at the far turn, came again when clear and finished strongly. EARTH SHAKER quit. The latter worked his way forward steadily, responded well in the drive and was wearing down the winner at the end. BLACK PETER, slow to begin, moved up with a rush on the inside, but tired in the last stages. DORNOCH, used up in setting the pace, tired rapidly in the drive. BENEFIT showed a good effort.
