SINGING WOOD TOP WEIGHT 1 FOR PAUMONQK HANDICAP NEW YORK, N. Y., April 10. Weights for the Paumonok Handicap, opening day feature at Jamaica were released today and Mrs. John Hay Whitneys Singing Wood, which is in training at Belmont Park for the Jamaica session is assigned top weight of 126 pounds, conceding three pounds to Observant with Trumpery next in line with 121. Singing Wood, Observant and Trumpery are four-year-olds and are listed at four, seven and nine pounds, respectively, below the scale weight, which is 130 pounds. Handicapper Campbell has formed a high opinion of the Brookmeade Stables Psychic Bid and Plat Eye, from the Greentree Stable, when he is asking them to concede scale weight to the older horses. Psychic Bid is giving away four pounds to Singing Wood, while Plat Eye is asked to concede three. From a top of 126 the weights are scaled down fo 90 which is assigned to Dunlilt and Eldee both-fast but faint hearted.
