t DALLAS TURF NOTES s Rain, the first in nearly a month visited Fair Park Tuesday and Wednesday and track superintendent Richard Anderson was well pleased with the drenching the track received. The course needed water badly and the steady rains of two days soaked the soil thoroughly. The racing strip was sloppy Wednesday but the water failed to settle on top of the soil working its way through j the top dressing and leaving little water on the top. With no more rain Thursday, Anderson hopes to have a fast track for morning training hours. The Bahr stall gate, expected here for several days, finally arrived and with starter Jack Hodges here, schooling is scheduled for Thursday morning when the gate which was rebuilt and shipped from Houstqn will be assembled. Should rain continue, Hodges will be forced to call of schooling until weather and track conditions permit.
