JANE PACKARD, although in close quarters approaching the far turn, got through an opening on the stretch turn to take, command and drew out to an easy victory in the last eighth. ALTENA displayed the most early speed and, while no match for the winner, held on fairly well. IKARD was never far away and showed a fair effort. FAIR TIME closed some ground. LET HER PLAY lacked early speed and was never a dangerous contender. MORALE unseated his rider before the start and ran away one mile. LYNNEWOOD, racing in a muzzle, acted very badly at the post, unseating his rider and throwing himself when his front legs became tangled in the lead shank strap, straddled the fence twice while bucking to free himself from the shank and, after delaying the start for many minutes, was started from outside the gate, then displayed good speed for a half mile, but ouit badly.
