CHANCE QUEEN, away fast and hustled into the lead leaving the back stretch, drew clear under good urging and won easily. MISS DIAVOLO, under strong urging from the start, failed to menace the winner; but was best of the others. BILLY I., forced to race wide throughout held on well. THE FLANKMAN dropped back when outrun and failed to improve his position under strong urging. RUDOLPH LAD had no mishaps. SKINNY CARLOCK raced wide. PARSLEY, slow to begin, made up ground. TRAITOR, well up from the start and on the outside, improved his position steadily, responded well in the stretch and won drawing away. NEED forced the pace under steadying restraint, moved up when put to pressure, reached the lead nearing the final eighth, but failed to withstand the winner. BROADSTEP, never far back and in close quarters for three-eighths, lost ground entering the stretch, but closed with a rush when clear. CREOLE BIRD, forced to, lose ground throughout, held on well. SPLURGE, away slowly and in close quarters for a half mile, made up ground thereafter. IMPERIAL BLONDY had no mishaps. BLACK PETER was outrun. BLUE CAT, fractious at the post but away well, forced the pace under good urging, disposed of BONNIE PAN in the stretch and withstood JAKOVIA. The latter, unable to keep up in the early stages, saved ground at the stretch turn and closed with a rush. MY SURPRISE, on the outside throughout, bore over while racing fonvardly in the stretch and finished strongly. ATTRACTION, in close quarters throughout, was shuffled back when MY SURPRISE came over in the drive, and tired thereafter. UNLAWFUL, a strong factor from the start, lacked racing room in the stretch and tired thereafter. BONNIE PAN, used up setting the pace, quit under pressure. RED ROD quit. TRANSEN forced the pace under good urging, dropped back entering the stretch- and came again when nearing the finish. CENTENNIAL closed with a rush. INFLATE quit.
