The Three Ds Stock Farms plans to ship a string to Louisville for the Churchill Downs meeting. It has a pair of horses eligible for the Kentucky Derby in Phalamo and Chuck Wagon. Headliner, prized two-year-old of the Three Ds Stable, has been nominated for the Bash-ford Manor, rich juvenile stake of the Churchill Downs meeting. Furfiber; W. A. Jones Texas Derby eligible, had his final stiff preparation for Saturdays renewal of the 5,000 added feature when he went a handy nine furlongs over a fast track here Monday morning in 1:53. The son of Carlaris tested the inside track and working alone commenced his task from the mile post. Going along in even fashion, he was timed the quarter in :24, .the half mile in :48, the three-quarters in i:13, and the mile in 1:39. Trainer G. L. Hamilton was greatly impressed with the manner in which the horse completed his task. "I believe Furfiber will be a hard horse to head," said Hamilton. "He has done everything asked v of him in fine style, and I believe the nine furlongs of the Derby will be to his liking. If a pacemaker had been sent along with Furfiber he undoubtedly wouldhave stepped the distance at a faster clip." The Milky Way Farms Whiskolo, which finished second to Gillie in the Santa Anita Derby and a colt Robert McGarvey believes will win both the Texas and Kentucky Derbys, went a handy five-eighths Sunday morning in 1:00. Hold Fire broke two lengths in front of the son of Diavolo, but he was well beaten by the Derby eligible at the end.
