OLD IRONSIDES, a forward factor from the beginning, challenged the pacemaker strongly when nearing the stretch, withstood a hard drive gamely and was up in the last few strides. ZOWIE. improved her position, steadily when gaining full stride and finished full of run. TRAMWAY, crowded when reaching the stretch, luckily obtained racing room on the inside and finished stoutly. BALAATH came again after dropping back and was fourth. KRONA closed full of run-on the outside. PRINCE DANNY showed good speed while sotting the pace until reaching the stretch, then tired while swerving. TRAMWAYS rider made a claim of foul against PRINCE DANNY before the official sign was posted and which was not allowed. FANCY CLOTHES tired. Overweight Fancy Clothes, 2 pounds. CATHY P. began quickly, moved into a clear lead when midway of the turn, rallied strongly when placed to a severe drive after reaching the stretch and outstayed LEGION in a hard drive. LEGION, placed to punishment after the opening sixteenth, moved up to the winner entering the stretch and fought it out stoutly until the close. UBALD G. slipped through on the inside after racing in tight quarters in the First quarter mile and hold on gamely in the final test. HILDUR QUEEN raced evenly all the way. SHEPHERD BOY raced QUEEN VIC into submission, saved ground at the stretch turn, but could not withstand the winner. AIR LINE, outrun in the first half mile, worked his way up gamely thereafter and was going stoutly at the close. QUEEN VIC forced a fast pace for five-eighths, then tired. REGULA BADDUN responded gamely when challenged and outstayed SCOTCH QUEEN when the latter was badly ridden in the closing drive. SCOTCH QUEEN raced into contention, steadily swung to the outside when reaching the stretch and began lugging towards the inside after drawing on almost equal terms with the winner in the last sixteenth. CLOSE CALL, away well but outrun for five-eighths, closed stoutly in the last quarter mile. BALMACAN was hard ridden and had no mishaps. REE was done after five-eighths. BOCASETTE was held safe. GOOD OMEN was unable to stay with the winner when collared, but continued gamely and outstayed INFLAME. The latter improved its position steadily and closed with good courage when taken to the outside for the final drive. CRATAEGUS was hard ridden all the way and showed a good effort. SUN CAMP swung to the outside when making her move and finished with good energy. SWEET SUSAN, lacking early speed and racing in dull fashion, was unable to menace at any stage. RED ROAMER, rated close up early, continued gamely after making strong efforts in the last half mile and outstayed NIGHT SERGE. The latter was steadied while setting the pace, but was not good enough when challenged. DRUSUS was under strong handling, saved ground in the last five-sixteenths, but could not reach the leaders. The latter, in a contending position all during the running, came. -with, good courage under punishment and was wearing the winner down gradually at the close. TOLIMATA, well placed early, made stout efforts in the last half mile and held on gamely. PROHIBITION was going gamely at the finish. THE AENEAD failed to rally when put to a strong drive. NOURRICE was unable to enter contention. DARK MISSION saved ground and had no excuses. CHICLE SHIP began tiring in the last half mile. MADWIND broke slowly and was never dangerous.
