LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES : In view of the recent resolution adopted by the National Association of Racing Commissioners, of which Kentucky is a member, seeking to curb the evil, horsemen here were a bit surprised at the governments threatened action against the alleged doping of thoroughbreds. X-ouis Ewald, prominent Louisville turfman, has completely recovered from a recent attack of arthritis and was at Churchill Downs Tuesday to inspect the small string he has quartered there in charge of Milton Reiser. Many horsemen and race track employes attended the last rites for Vernon Sanders, veteran turf scribe, who died of a heart attack; Frank P. Letellier arrived with a string of ten, including Pre-War, which he campaigned at New Orleans. His outfit was joined at Churchill Downs by eight two-year-olds which were wintered at Douglas Park in charge of Eddie Kaiser. Another arrival from New Orleans was the stable of I. J. Collins, former member of the Ohio State Racing Commission. There were six head in this unit, including Thomas C. and Debate, two eligibles for the Bash-ford Manor Stakes. William Hoag checked In from the same point with one horse.
