RETAIN DAILY DOUBLE BETS 1 "Walter OHara Gives Up Idea of Discarding" Popular Form of Wagering- at Narragansett. PAWTUCKET, R. I.f April 2. By popular demand the "Daily Double," first introduced to New England by Narragansett Park, will be retained at the Rhode Island track for the season of 1936. President "Walter E. OHara for a while dallied with the idea of eliminating this feature, but a hurried check among a cross section of racing followers convinced him of a genuine demand for the "Daily Doubles" retention. Post time for Narragansetts spring meeting, which commences Saturday, May 2, has been set for 2:15 p. m. The "Daily Double" will be decided by the first and third races and tickets will be sold up to 2 p. m., at which time the windows will be closed. Interlocking with this feature is the train service to the park just announced by the N. Y., N. H. and H. R. R. The "Gansett Special," as usual, will be run in as many sections as demanded by the volume of passengers, the last section leaving South Station, Boston, at 12:45 p. m. daylight saving time, and arriving at the park grandstand at 1:40 p. m. daylight saving time. Fares will be a round trip and trains return immediately following the last race. Shuttle trains will run from Providence to the track, leaving Union Station at 12:45 p. m. and 1:30 p. m. The trip takes fifteen minutes and the fare is 25 cents a round trip.
