1 I t ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES . Eugene Lutz was fined 0 for having Prince Heather late in the paddock for his engagement in the third race Wednesday. Jack Hodgins, manager of H. B. George s Hilltop and Gladacres Farms, stated that the mares Sycorax, Jolly Rambler, Disapproval, Nassa Alone, Maxine P., and Dixie Li. arrived from New Orleans. They will be mated with Greenock, the successful young stallion that stands at Gladacres Farm. . F. A. Riley arrived from New Orleans with Alma Delia, Erb, Lovely Spy and Zenka, and W. G. Montgomery checked in from Beaver, Okla., with Laurene Leader, West Wichita and Beaver County. Sam Eddy, brother of R. S. Eddy, Jr., general manager and part owner of the Fair Grounds race track at New Orleans, arrived here Thursday. Bronc Rider, the Kilkerry Mazetta three-year-old in the Waggoner barn, which received national fame when he lost his tail, is scheduled to make his formal spring debut Friday at Arlington Downs. Bronc Rider is a prime favorite with the Waggoner attaches and his courageous fight to overcome his handicap of being minus his "steerer" has won him many additional friends. Right after the operation which resulted in Bronc losing his appendage the horse came dangerously close to dying, but Dan Dearing, Dick Vestal and others in the Three Ds barn watched over him night and day, and the horse slowly responded to the care and attention. F. B. Koontz, master of the Paul-Fred Farm, Tulsa, Okla., where Sweeping Light, Witchmount and Pairbypair are standing, has advised Texas Jockey Club officials that he will be down for his spring visit next week. Three of the Waggoner brood mares Flivver, Lady Teddy and Porthole are now at Paul-Fred and have been bred to Sweeping Light, and three of Koontz mares Jean, Dominate and Soarer all of which have foaled fine colts, are at the Three Ds Stock Farm and have been bred to Liberty Limited. Walter Grater, trainer of Sam Games Long Run Stable, leased the services of apprentice Albert Morgan for the remainder of the Arlington Downs meeting. F. H. Smith arrived with the plater Breezing Along and G. W. Ellis checked in with Steinbuchel, Sandvato and Mr. Richardson. They came from Hot Springs. Jockey Alfred Robertson became ill Thurs-, day morning and was forced to cancel his engagements. He is suffering with a minor stomach ailment and expects to resume riding Friday. Henderson Van Zandt, who has charge of quartering the horses, stated this morning that there were 1,050 horses stabled at Arlington Downs, Fair Park, Dallas, and barns adjacent to the local track. The horses Eugene Drillon brought here from New Orleans are Yule Star, Bright Knot, Scout Chief, Pertinacious, Pomposo, Seafarer, Baby Bane, Novito and Cold South. Jockey M. Garrett is with the stable. Saturday promises to be a gala day at Arlington Downs. Many reservations for tables in the clubhouse have been received. The program will be topped by the ,500 Blue Bonnet Handicap and other races. Turf enthusiasts are displaying much interest in the scheduled workout Saturday of Frank Carreauds Time Supply, and there is every indication that Saturdays usually large throng will be considerably augmented by additional patrons who wish to glimpse the horse which ran second to Top Row in the Santa Anita Handicap. It is proposed to give the big fellow his gallop between the fourth and fifth races Saturday afternoon. Trainer Tommy Taylor has indicated that he might work Mrs. Silas B. Masons He Did, winner of the Santa Anita Derby and potential favorite for the 5,000 Texas Derby on the same afternoon..
