ADAM SOMERS was outrun for a half mile, then came to the inside after leaving the back stretch to save much ground around the stretch turn and, challenging RIPOSO in the stretch, bested the latter in the run home. RIPOSO followed SHIFT closely in the early stages, took a short lead when the latter tired and held on well in the final drive. CLOTHTOP was in tight quarters rounding the first turn and again in the back stretch and showed a good effort. RUSSET was forced to take up when RARE CHANCE bore out in front of him rounding the first turn and raced well thereafter. SHIFT tired badly in the stretch. INHERITOR had no excuses and showed a dull effort. TRILLIUM was done after going three-quarters. RARE CHANCE raced to the outside fence rounding the first turn. Scratched 24516 Our Billy, 115. VERA CROFTON followed RAPID MORTGAGE closely in the early stages, raced to the front when the latter began to tire and lasted to win. DODIE met with slight interference at the start,, but came fast on the outside after leaving the back stretch and, although racing in the middle of the track in the stretch, might have won had his rider been of any help near the end. BARBARA LEE was crowded back when SIUALL MORTGAGE bolted in front of her at the start and, making up much ground, was probably best. SNOOKSIE SHOT displayed good" early speed and held on fairly well. EASTER TOMMY suffered interference at the tart SMALL MORTGAGE bolted in front of BARBARA LEE and EASTER TOMMY at the start and showed fair speed when straightened out, but tired in the stretch.
