The latter, forced to lose ground throughout, responded to strong urging after reaching the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. ROUGH CREEK, under good urging throughout, failed to menace the leaders, but held the others safe. QUINDARO began fastest, but was unable to keep up, then made up ground in the drive. PAT BANE tired. MISS PETRINA, never far back, met slight interference entering the stretch, but came fast when clear. DUCKIE ROSE, in close quarters the greater part of the trip, showed a good effort. CLUB SODA, forced back at the lower turn and outrun for three-quarters, closed with a rush. DISAPPROVAL quit. RUSTIC LASSIE, used up in pacemaking, quit badly after relinquishing the lead. The latter worked his way forward steadily, responded fast after reaching the stretch, appeared to bear over during the final eighth and just failed to get up. RUSH-AWAY sprinted into a long lead early, set a fast pace, appeared to bump TIME SUPPLY when SALAAM came over and, tiring in the last sixteenth, finished third, but was disqualified for fouling. TIME SUPPLY, away fast but outrun early, worked his way forward steadily, was sent through the field for the drive and was knocked back bv interference and was placed third.
