TWO NEW ZEALAND FOALS SAN MATEO, Calif., April 25. D. J. Davis, who owned Phar Lap, bred his first winner in Maori Lad. He sent Eaglet II. to the court of Night Raid, in New Zealand, at the same time with another mare Phaola. They foaled in New Zealand, one a colt, one a filly. When six months old they were shipped to the United States along with Cynthia Ann, which had been bred to Illiad. The first two mares were bred back to Night Raid, and travelled with foals at foot. These foals became known as Maori Lad and Maori Girl. Eaglet II. was a New Zealand mare. She was shipped to Australia and won at Rand-wick, the Saratoga of the Antipodes, where the minimum purse is ,000. The foals from Eaglet II. and Phaola arrived at Paso Tiempo, near Santa Cruz, and are now yearlings. Phaola was bred to" Tea j Trader and has a fine looking suckling colt by him. All three mares and their youngsters are , still at the Marion Hollins Ranch, at Paso Tiempo. 1 s
