1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES I S : j M. Li. Emerich, of Chicago, part-owner of the Millsdale Stable, with Anthony Pelle-teri, was present for Grey Counts victory, the first scored in his silks. He had Harry Frank also of Chicago as his guest. Ed Fleming, a director of the American Turf Association, was on hand from his Chicago home for the opening. Joseph E. Widener came over from EI-mendorf, near Lexington, to see Brevity perform in the Sophomores Purse. He was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. P. A. B. Widener.
