I FIRE BELL RINGS ; HORSES START I NEW YORK, N. Y., April 29.— An amusing happening occurred while the horses were | ! at the post Monday, in the second race. The field, with one exception, was lined up at the barrier and a passing fire truck sounded its bell and the horses darted away. How- I ! ever, they did not go far and were returned to their positions when the real start was effected.
