SATION AND KING SAXON Two Great Sprinters to Meet for First Time in Jamaica Handicap Saturday. NEW YORK, N. Y., April 29.— In the two years that G. D. Wideners Sation and C. H. "Pat" Knebelkamps King Saxon were establishing themselves in the front rank as Americas greatest sprinters, the pair have never clashed. They are slated to hook up at level weights — 128 pounds — in the revived Jamaica Handicap, of six furlongs, carrying ,000 in endowment, at Jamaica Saturday and their meeting is arousing considerable interest among turf fans of the «New York area. With this great "natural," a crowd such as saw Teufel beat Granville in the thrilling Wood Memorial renewal last Saturday, is anticipated on the week end. King Saxon, picked up for the proverbial song out of a claiming race by his present owner, "Pat" Knebelkamp, is now a five-year-old and has returned rich dividends. In 1933 alone the Saxon horse gleaned 8,010 in purse earnings in winning nine of thirteen starts, being unplaced on three occasions. Sation, a home-bred, and now a six-year-old, did not get to the races until three. His 1935 record shows him winning four of nine starts, with four seconds and a third to his credit, for a seasons earnings of 9,455. Sation was never out of the money last year. King Saxons stake record for last year is mighty impressive. He won the Paumonok, Excelsior Handicap, Metropolitan, Queens County, Carter, second in the Brooklyn, and took the Continental Handicap in that order. Sation won the Capital Handicap, Mrs. Col. A. J. Pierce Speed Handicap, Interborough, Fall Highweight Handicap, was second in the Blackstone Valley, Weybosset. Scarsdale and Baltimore Handicaps, and finished third in a three horse blanket finish in the New Rochelle Handicap. Weights for the Jamaica Handicap scale down from the 128 assigned King Saxon and Sation to 90 pounds for Town Crier. A field of at least ten is expected to travel post-ward in this attractive special. •
