WORKMAN TO RIDE GRAND SLAM LOUISVILLE. Ky., April 29.— Major Louie A. Beard this afternoon advised R. E. Potts, trainer of the Bomar Stables Grand Slam, that permission had been given to jockey R. Workman to ride that colt in the Derby. Workman, who is under contract to C. V. Whitney, will come here from the East to fill the engagement.
