TRUE TUNE found racing room on the inside of PEGGY SHIPPEN to take command after the first sixteenth, drew out into a safe lead, saved ground throughout, but was kept under pressure to the end. PEGGY SHIPPEN had the most speed from the gate, continued steadily when headed, but could not overhaul the winner. BERGERE lacked speed from the barrier, was forced to circle the leaders to gain a contending position and finished well. JUB JUB bettered her position gradually. SWEET DESIRE raced wide all th# way. DUNDRILLIN, well placed from the start, moved into command when FLYING FEATHERS fell at th« ninth fence, drew out easily as many of the others met with mishaps and easily held sway to the end. THE SPY gradually bettered his position, disposed of ICE MAN in the final half mile, but could not reach the winner. ICE MAN, always forwardly placed, was tiring at the end and had no excuses. HER EXCELLENCY was always a trailer. MEREDITH lost his rider at the third fence. JACKIE fell at the third. GRAINGER ran out of the course going to the fourth fence. SYRIAC ran out of the course going to the seventh jump when his blinkers slipped over his eves. He had almost lost his rider when he made a bad landing at the fourth fence. NAVAL CADET lacked early speed to keep up. cradually bettered his position when he found his stride, but could not menace the first two. DROLL STORY raced in spots and closed well. JAMUL was rated behind the pace of JOBAKHETA down the back stretch, responded well when straightened into the stretch, but his rider was forced to take up when JOBAKHETA weaved in front of him; his rider claimed a foul which was not allowed. HAPPY EASTER moved up quickly when settled into his stride, secured racina room on the inside entering the stretch and closed stoutly. FLAGEOLET lacked eaily speed while trailine the field, but finished fast through the final five sixteenths. HELEN BAB flashed some speed. Lut quit. The others weie outrun. TULEYRIES WAND, always well placed while racing under restraint, responded when called upon to taks a short lead in the stretch and held TELL IT safe in the drive. TELL IT had nice speed to set the pace, shook off the challenge of STAR QUEEN and fought it out with the winner to the end. AUTOWIN. slow as usual to find his speed, moved up very strongly in the final stages and closed fastest. MORE PEP raced evenly while having no excuses. GOLDEN PLAY made up some ground. TACK, outrun for the first three-quarters, slipped through on the inside leaving the back stretch to reach contention, came around NARISE when straightened into the stretch, continued strongly in the lead and outstayed CANDLE FLY under a hard drive. The latter, far out of contention in the first seven-eighths, swung to the outside and finished full of run. NARISE. crowded over on DIXIE DORA when moving into the lead, saved eround. but faltered in the last eighth. DIXIE DORA, crowded while racing on the inside, had to be eased lightly and tired slowly. DOCTORS GIFT raced evenly throughout. OUR SHIP was unable to threaten. GALABANG raced strongly for three-quarters, then quit when shaken up. AT DUSK had no mishaps.
