LUCY, in close quarters early, improved its position steadily when clear, moved up fast in the stretch and outfinished CHALK EYE. The latter raced forwardly under steadying restraint, drew away rapidly after reaching the lead and just failed to last. ALL BAYS began from outside of the machine, worked his way forward on the outside of his field, but tired in the last stages. SANTERNO, awav slowlv, was sent through the field after five eighths, but tired in the last eighth. GRANTA showed a good "effort." STEALINGAWAY a strong factor for three quarters, tired in the drive.
