» FINAL STAKE PAYMENTS DUE 1 Friday Last Day to Pay Fees for 0,000 Arlington Futurity and 0,000 Lassie Stakes. Final payments of 0 each to the Arlington Futurity and Arlington Lassie Stakes are due Friday, it was stated at the Arlington Park offices. The Futurity is for two-year-old colts, geldings and fillies, and the Lassie is for juvenile fillies, and they will be renewed during the thirty-day meeting starting at the north side course, June 29. Both events have been liberally subscribed to by horsemen, and the Futurity, to which 0,000 is added, is expected to gross 0,000 and the Lassie 5,000. The added money for the latter is 0,000. Nominations closed September 4 last year, with a subsequent payment January 15. Only the May 15 payment and starting fee remains. These events annually attract most of the best two-year-olds developed up to the time, the Futurity last summer engaging Grand Slam, Tintagel, Coldstream, Snark, White Cockade, Valevictorian and other good youngsters.
