AIR LINE, well placed from the start, moved up stoutly leaving the back stretch, drew into a good lead and was never to be threatened, but was ridden out smartly at the end. DOGMATA, unable to reach contention early, came through on the inside at the stretch turn and closed in determined fashion, but was in„ le to threaten the leader. TAKUS improved his position gradually in the last quarter mile and was going willingly on the outside through the stretch. MIDNIGHT FLYER was well placed throughout. SOPHIST was go.ng stoutly at the close. M. J. BRENNAN could never reach the leaders. SWIFT QUEEN displayed good earlv speed onlv to falter when the real racing began. CARMINOWE tired. BACON, in the first flight throughout, continued with good energy to the rlose. ST. MORITZ. forwardly placed while racing restrained, finished stoutly through the stretch. SWIFTLET moved up on the inside and held on gamely to the end. PLAYFUL MARTHA had no excuses. SOME GOOD could never reach the leaders. MISS OTIS was outrun throughout. GOOD OMEN raced prominently placed all the way and held on in gamer fashion than usual in the closing drive. JEZREEL, unable to keep place early, closed stoutly in the final drive. RED ROAMER, among the trailers for the first half mile, closed a good gap thereafter. ZULU LAD was never prominent. MORLUTE had brief earlv speed. TOANO tired. Scratched— 25615 Virbet, 103. DARK WAR, in closest pursuit of the pace from practically the outset, fought it out determinedly to the close. MISS SUBWAY was forwardly placed from the start and held on gamely under punishment. BLUE DAY, away slowly and outrun until leavin" the back stretch, moved up on the outside and closed going gamely. MY BLONDE, hard ridden to keep pace, held on willingly to the close. MOUNTAIN ELK, shuffled back in the run to the far turn, was unable to gain clear sailing, but was closing a big gap through the stretch. EPITAPH was never a dangerous factor. RED JOHN com with a rush through the stretch and was going fastest at the end. JOHN WERRING outran his fieid to the first turn, was lated along in front under steadying restraint, but was unable to keep pace in the closing test. SKIP IT was unable to reach the leaders. DANCING BOY, forced to lose ground while making his bid leavine the back stretch, held on well to the end. WANDREL came through on the inside at the stretch turn and closed well. RHODESIA forced the early pace, assumed the lead soon after being straightened out in the back stretch and foueht it out determinedly when challenged, but was not good enough. FOGARTY worked his way up steadily and finished determinedly through the last quarter mile. BACARDI SWEEP raced well thoueh unable to reach the leaders. FAIR COUNTESS was going well when too late.
