Start poor and slow. Won driving ; second and third the same. ETHELS CHOICE was kept forwardly all the way, responded to extreme pressure on the inside in the final drive and wore down STAR PUPIL in the last strides. The latter showed good speed from the start, bore over slightly nearing the finish and held on well. PLANETARIUM was kept forwardly from the start, responded to urging in the final eighth and finished with a rush. DIRECT showed an even effort throughout, but could not menace the leaders. WISE BUN raced evenly throughout. DEVILS BANNER, under pressure in the early running, raced greenly. BALLEROY, fractious at the post, was placed on the outside of the stalls for the break. JESTING raced forwardly under mild urging from the start, came to the outside of the leader in the stretch and drew away in the final eighth. SANDY BILL was rushed into a safe lead, saved ground all the way and had no mishaps. SANG FROID. on the outside reaching the far turn and stretch turns, made a determined bid in the stretch and then faltered. PORTDEN, away well, dropped back in the early running, saved ground and finished well. FINISHER closed with good courage from a slow beginning. JACK SNIPE had no mishaps. CLAMOROUS, fractious at the post, broke well and bore towards the outside, responded to severe punishment in the final eighth and outlasted CARE FOR in the final drive. The latter raced through on the outside and. a forward factor all the way, made a determined bid in the final eighth and finished gamely. MISAPPREHENSION, in nearest pursuit of the early pace but on the outside of the leadeis, closed resolutely under urging. VEILED LADY swerved towards the inside shortly after the break and could not menace the leaders. BETTY VIC had no excuses in the running. MAD DUCHESS raced greenly, but closed well on the outside. BOOTMAKER was away well but outrun, was placed under pressure and came to the outside in the stretch. CLOCKS, a forward factor on the outside in the early running, faltered badly in the final eighth. The latter, on the outside all the wav, was bumped by ROYAL FOX in the stretch and then finished well. GOI.DENEVE improved his position steadily on the inside, saved ground and then finished fast in the final sixteenth. EN MASSE moved up with a rush when called upon, but faltered. The latter was rushed into command aftel the start, raced TIME TO GO into defeat, but was bearing out at the finish. PARSLEY was outrun in the early stages and made up ground slowly. HAIL dropped back after the break, lost ground entering the stretch and could not improve her position. PLAY BOOK was rushed into an early lead, but quit badly in the stretch run. HEDRIC had no mishaps.
