GENIAL MANNERS, away in the first flight and luckily obtaining racing room between the leaders entering the stretch, assumed command in the final eighth and, under hard urging, came out steadily. SUGAFOOT, sloughed by TIDY LADY and FRISCO KID in the first quarter mile, recovered gamely and finished courageously on the outside in the stretch run. TIDY LADY was rushed hard to gain the lead, saved ground, but tired under punishment. FRISCO KID bore over after the start, caused some crowding at the turn and raced stoutly all the way. HAPPY HOST could not threaten. WHITE SWEETS was outrun. MOONBURN lacked speed to reach a contending position. MULVANEY suffered from crowding directly after the start. SYRIAC, restrained off the pace for the first turn of the field, moved to the leaders rapidly after clearing the tenth jump, assumed command at the next to the last fence and drew out smartly thereafter. FLYING FEATHERS, prominent all durin r the runnine, rallied to punishment, but could not threaten the winner in the final drive. McKINLEY B., forwardly placed from the beginning and jumping nicely, held on resolutely in the final test. LITTLE WOMAN was used up chasing OCCOQUAN and tired after being displaced at the twelfth fence. OCCOQUAN bore out and swerved into horses on the outside of him at the start, raced boldly for a turn of the field, then tired. JACKIE was held safe. DEPART was never a factor. FIGHTING COCK lost his rider at the twelfth jump. RIDING HIGH, hustled to the front shortly alter the start, responded readily when placed to a hard drive in the last three sixteenths and barely lasted to withstand MISS SNOW. The latter followed closest to I the winner from the beginnine. made repeated efforts and continued strongly until the close. MINT BUD bettered her position gradually and came courageously in the final issue. FLOSII.DA, slower than usual to gain her best stride, circled her field and finished determinedly. TAUNTON closed stoutly from a slow beginning. MORE TIDE lacked early speed, but finished fast on the inside. BLACK RIBBON raced forwardly and showed a good effort. STROTHE was racing gamely at the end. IDLE WORKER tired, as did TREASURY KEY. HOME WORK raced to the outside when straightened in the back stretch, wore down SKIMALONG when reaching the stretch and fought it out stubbornly until the finish. SKIMALONG splinted into a long lead early, saved ground, but failed to stay when challenged. INFILEE. slow to begin, closed a good gap. JOBAKHETA failed to rallv when shaken up JAMUL raced in dull fashion. MISS CYLLENE was done after going three quarters. BILL FARNSWORTH had nice speed to establish a short lead early, disposed of SOBRIETY and ANEROID in turn, was in close quarters on the turn, but drew out easily and had something in reserve at the end. LOVELY GIRL, slow as usual in the early racing, gradually bettered her position, disposed of ANEROID in the stretch drive, but was no match for the winner. ANEROID, forwardly placed from the outset, made repeated efforts to catch the winner and was weakening from his efforts at the end. SOBRIETY flashed early speed, but could not keep up. EGEON, away forwardly. raced THATCHESTA into submission after five-eighths, assumed a short lead when leaving the back stretch, gave way to JIM BROWN in the stretch, but was kept under pressure and was up in the final strides when JIM BROWN tired. The latter, a contender from the start, moved up stoutly in the stretch, but tired under punishment. WISHING STAR, forced to take up when the spill occurred, trailed the field until the final turn and closed stoutly. AIRWAY could never threaten. MARYS MAY quit. THATCHESTA quit badly after showing speed. COVENTRY QUEEN began stumbling right after the start and finally fell, throwing her rider and bothering WISHING STAR. PEGGY CAN raced CORA KAY into submission, responded when put to a hard drive and continued with good courage to the end. MANUAL was carried very wide at the iirst turn and lost ground for the balance of the trip. CORA KAY outstayed tiring horses. TELL IT was done after going three-quarters. BY SURPRISE had a rough trip. BUDDY BOO appeared sore on parade.
