HOUSE AFIRE, taken back repeatedly in the first five eighths during which she saved much ground. , ! came to the extreme outside on the stretch turn, raced to the lead with a rush when straightened in the final quarter and won in hand. SIS AGNES, a strong factor from the start and under restraint for three-quarters, held on well, although she was no match for the winner. LUCY, slow to respond to pressure, finished fast on the outside. COHORT LASS suffered early interference and showed a good effort CARNELIAN also met interference. FOR ROMANCE faltered when placed to strong urging in the final i quarter. CEL1BA had speed, but quit badlv atter reaching the stretch. LADY MACAW sulked. GYPSY FLAME, away fast but outrun early, improved her position steadily, responded fast entering I | the stretch, forged to the front nearing the final eighth, withstood SMILIN ED, but had nothing left. I I SMILIN ED moved up under steadying restraint, bore out badly entering the stretch, but held on well. ALSANG, away slowest and outrun for three quarters, was sent around his field when improving his position and closed with a rush. GREY NOSE took command at once, gave way when challenged and came again in the , drive, but tired in the last stages. BURNT TRAIL made up ground in the drive. LAWYER BRIGADE was I sent through the field when improving his position, but quit badly after offering a mild bid approaching the Final half mile.
