I PIMLICO TURF NOTES | $ — * Dr. Henry J. McCarthy, who has been treating E. R. Bradleys Bold Flirt for a torn coronet, suffered at this course early in the meeting, reports that the filly is mending rapidly and should be able to go postward shortly. C. S. Madison, who has a half dozen useful racers under shelter at Timonium, subsidiary track of the Maryland Jockey Club, is shipping his string to Toronto for racing on the Canadian circuit. A. G. Vanderbilt will ship eighteen horses to Rockingham Park on Sunday in care of Charles Slade. The main division of the stable is at Belmont Park in care of trainer J. H. Stotler. Jockey F. Mauro left for Chicago to join the Shandon Farm Stable. Trainer William Norton is shipping a division of the J. H. Whitney stable to Nar-ragansett Park. Jockey H. Cruz will accompany the shipment. Dr. Freeland, winner of the Preakness in 1929, and Billy Barton, were on display at the Preakness Ball on Friday night. Old Ironsides, a three-year-old in the Bo-mar Stable, was destroyed by Dr. Eugene S. Mullins when the colt broke a bone in his foot during training hours on Friday. A. E. Alexandra shipped the Cosgrave stable performers to Toronto to await the opening of the Canadian racing season at Woodbine Park. There were three members in the shipment including the recent acquisition Nandi. James Ross, Jr., who spent several days at Narragansett Park serving as missionary for Agawam Park, returned from the New England course and reported that much interest is being evinced in the coming meeting at the Massachusetts track. Charles Kurtsinger, contract rider for Mrs. Silas B. Mason, was an arrival and reported to trainer Tommy Taylor, who will saddle He Did in the Preakness Stakes. Ben Holmes, who will serve as racing secretary at Suffolk Downs, departed for New York to circulate among the horsemen at that point for the closing of the stakes to be run at the East Boston course. Word was received here of the death of Alec Doyle, of Savannah, Ga., and his passing came as a severe shock to his many friends. George Palmer, who will preside in the starters stand during the meeting of thirty-one days at Charles Town, announced that he would begin schooling horses at the Virginia track on Tuesday next. Clarence Buxton arrived from Belmont Park with Mrs. M. Cassidys sprinter Bill Farnsworth, who was named for the sixth race on Friday. The colt came in the same shipment, that brought Bold Venture from the M. L. Schwartz barn to Pimlico. W. Bethel has completed arrangements to transfer the J. H. Whitney jumpers to Belmont Park Friday. Poppyman and Immortal II. head the jumping division of the stable. W. J. Norton is sending the flat racers of the J. H. Whitney stable to Narragansett Park. , . John Bosley will transfer the steeplechase performers and the flat racers of H. R. Bain to Woodbine Park on Friday. Jockey Pau McGinnis, who went to Belmont Park to ride Rock Lad, a member of the Bain stable in the International Steeplechase, will report to Bosley at the Ontario Jockey Club course.
