LEE LAFFOON was not hurried during the first half mile, moved up steadily leaving the back stretch, moved to the pacemaker with a rush when reaching the stretch and drew out through the last eighth. SEAWICK displayed speed from the start, drew clear after disposing of CUMBERLAND and. despite holding on stoutly, was no match for the winner in the drive. PLATINUM BLONDE was a prominent factor throughout and held on in detei mined fashion to the close. THATCH was outrun for the first three-quarters and closed with a rush on the inside through the stretch. FAIRYSTREET was never able to reach the leaders. CUMBERLAND had good speed, but quit badly rounding from the back stretch.
