TAUNTON, teserved back of the pacemaker for the first seven-eighths, took command under stout pressure midway of the stretch, then came out slowly "nearing the end. REPEAL, permitted to drop back approaching the final turn, was placed to punishment and came with a belated rush at the close. DEARZIN was rushed hard to take the early lead, saved ground while in command, but tired in the last quarter mile. MAD EAGLE raced forwardly placed, but was not good enough when shaken up. IRISH VOTE could not threaten when making his run. THREE DAGGERS, on the outside all the way, could not reach contention when put to a drive. POST BRIGADE was unable to menace. Start good and slow.
