I AURORA TURF NOTES | % $ W. "Chuck Causey, trainer for the runners of the Mayfield Stable, shipped his charges to Detroit, where they will e campaigned throughout the meeting. Jockey M. Terry contemplates a saddle campaign in Canada following the close of the current Aurora meeting. Carvola headed the shipment of E. K. Bryson thoroughbreds that were brought down from Pimlico by Harry Baker and went into quarters at Hawthorne. Carvola is an eligible for the Illinois Derby and will be vanned over to the Fox Valley track for the engagement. Jockey Johnny Longden, who will have the mount on Rushaway in the Illinois Derby Friday afternoon at the Fox Valley course, motored from Winnipeg, Canada, and plans to ride during the week. F. A Riley loaded the horses he is training for Lee Erb and his own for Riverside Park. Jockey H. Duncan accompanied the shipment to the Kansas City track. Jockey Jimmy McCoy was an arrival from Louisville, Ky., and will accept mounts during the week. The veteran rider is hopeful of obtaining a mount on one of the contestants in the Illinois Derby. Because of a more attractive offer, Ross DePrema rejected the offer made him by R. J. Speers, Canadian sportsman. Dr. J. R. Upton, well-known veterinarian, was an arrival from the South. The horses owned by A. Barrera and Mrs. H. Torriente will be shipped to Detroit on Tuesday, according to present plans. Barney Ross, worlds welterweight champion, will be the guest of the Fox Valley Jockey Club management Thursday and the feature race on the program will be named, in his honor.
