IRIS, slightly forced back on the far turn and brought to the outside in the stretch, raced evenlv under strong pressure in the final quarter. STARRY FLAG hustled into command and, receiving a brief breathing spell on the turn, quickly increased her advantage upon reaching the stretch and, vigorously ridden out, had little left. CHESTNUT QUEEN, lucky to keep up when racing in close quarters on the turn, came with good late speed when straightened out in the stretch and finished strongest. EPITOME moved up when lacing wide on the turn, continued to lose ground therealter and held on fairly well. INCOGNITO saved much ground early, swerved slightly on the stretch turn and tired in the final eighth. COL. JULIAN had speed, but tired badly. VIRNOCK showed nothine. ARIEL GOLD was tin ouch early. MISS WISE had speed from the start, was forced wide by PARADE STEP when entering the stretch, then bore over badly when gradually wearing down PARADE STEP and was up in the closing strides, but wa« disqualified for fouling. PARADE STEP had the most speed from the start, raced wide on the stretch turn and, despite repeated interference from MISS WISE, fought it out stubbornly in the drive. BABESON was under strong riding the final three-eighths and held on gamely. EDDY LEE raced wide and tired in the drive. BEBEST, placed on the outside at the start, began slowly and was never a factor. HOUR TIME quit. Scratched— 25441 Idle Victory, 105; 24453 Azomis, 97; 25824 Monks Gold, 100. RIFF had speed from the start, bore out badly on the stretch turn and tired in the final eighth, but outstayed LAWYER BRIGADE. The latter also showed speed from the start, was forced wide by RIFF on the stretch turn and tired badly after three-quarters. RETTEF had no mishaps. VALLEY PRINCE bore out badly in the stretch. HIGH DIVER was under strong riding the final half mile, saved ground in the stretch and outstayed PRE WAR. OUR SAMMY, a factor from the start and also under reserve early, lost ground on the stretch turn and held on well to the final sixteenth, where he tired. BRILLIANT ROSE, badly outrun for three-quarters, closed fast. ENOLA began slowly and lost much ground. STINGER tired after moving up in the stretch. WEGOWAY quit. FOOLHARDY took comr md easily and was rated under snug restraint for three quarters, bore out badly soon after reaching the stretch and, holding on well, recovered the lead in the last fifty yards and outstayed LUCY. The latter, taken back early, was racing strongly and on the inside when blocked in the final eighth and may have been best. ALMAC, well in hand ior three-quarters and forced wide when racing to the lead, bore over badly alter reaching the front and tired suddenly in the last fifty yards. DAMASCENE, on the inside throughout, stumbled soon after reaching the back stretch and failed to rally to pressure in the stretch. M1DLANDA tired. Scratched— 25077 Miss Lizzie. 103; 25775 Harper, 108. Overweight— Foolhardy, 24 pounds.
