D. "Jim" Monroe. Eight Whitney colorbearers were in the con- : signment, along with L. Carters Black Gift, winner of the Philadelphia Handicap at ! Havre de Grace last month. The pink, black and white silks of the in- j ternational sportsman will be making their New England debut at Rockingham Parks j spring meeting, which gets under way here Monday, May 25. Bill Norton, trainer for the racing stable of J. H. Whitney, is now at Belmont Park t preparing to ship Singing Wood, winner of I ithe Toboggan Handicap, and two juveniles! to join the Whitney string already quartered hare, Norton has hopes of annexing the opening i | stake of the meeting, the ,500 added Speed j ! Handicap, with Singing Wood, winner of the Toboggan Handicap. Included in the Whitney string were Tall Oak, Minstrelsy, Majority Rule, No Dice, Witness, Sleepwell, Enthusiasm and Squeeker. «
