WILLOW BUD took command in the opening strides, drew away into a good lead, was steadied along in front and was never menaced, winning with speed in reserve. GOLDEN THOUGHT, well placed, moved up stoutly and just lasted to hold LITTLE SLEEPER. The latter, well placed all the way, made a bold effort to reach the leader and was not good enough, though going stoutly at the end. BALADINE, outpaced early, closed a good gap. SWIFT FLASH, shuffled back at the start, came stoutly through the stretch. WEE COLLEEN was unable to threaten. JAMESVILLE had brief carlv speed. FINISHER, restrained early, moved up steadily on the outside when leaving the back stretch, raced to the front with a rush and drew out steadily. LT. GREENOCK lacked his usual early speed, moved up on the outside after three-sixteenths and held on gamely to the close. MILLIMETER, hard ridden early, closed with good energy in the closing drive. THIRTEEN STARS, slow to leave the stalls and outpaced until after rounding the far turn, closed stoutly on the outside through the stretch. GOOD OMEN stumbled at the start, recovered gamely, moved up fast, was much used racing with MISS TROPHY and faltered in the closing test. INFINATA was well placed early, but was unable to keep up under pressure. MISS TROPHY quit badly after showing early speed. LADY CARROT took command in the run to the first turn, was supplanted from the command by HATS OFF, took the lead asain and was hard ridden to outlast BUSBY at the end. BUSBY was restrained early, moved up stoutly when called upon, bore in on SOCIETY COLUMN in the closing eighth and just failed to be up. SOCIETY COLUMN stumbled when reaching the first turn, recovered gamely, moved up stoutly, but again suffered interference in the stretch and finished well. SUN CAMP closed some ground after racing well back early. EARLY CALL saved considerable ground at the stretch turn and finished determinedly. HATS OFF faltered after going three-quarters. MOVIE LASS retired steadily after swinging from the back stretch. MARKME had brief early speed. Scratched 28276 Galloping, 102. MR BLAZE was away with the leaders, disputed the early lead with CONSERVATIVE, drew clear and tired inside the last sixteenth and just lasted. CONSERVATIVE displayed speed at the outset was unable to keep pace, but came again and just failed to be along in time. CONSERVATIVES rider lodged a claim of foul, which was not allowed. SOMALI dropped back in the opening strides and traded until ncanng the Wretch swune to the outside and, under intermittent punishment, closed with good energy. ROUSTABOUT moved up stoutly in the last three-eighths, but was unable to improve his position under punishment in the stretch drive. GALLANT MAC was well placed, but was unable to reach the leaders when called upon. CHANCE LINE retired after going five-eighths. GALLANT PRINCE faltered when leaving the back stretch. GREENE drew away into a long early lead, but faltered through the last five-sixteenths. SYNOD never could enter into contention. PITTER PAT was never a serious throat. UKRAINE was steadied along back of the pace, took command when SICKLE HOUR bolted to the outside fence, surrendered the lead to ALLENFERN inside the last sixteenth, but, coming again, was up in the concluding stride. ALLENFERN moved up stoutly rounding the far turn, gained clear sailing on the inside and, gaining a slight lead in the stretch, just failed to hold on long enough. RED ROAMER, reserved early, moved up on the outside and held on stubbornly in the closing drive. MASTER TIME could never reach the leaders. PLATINUM BLONDE was unable to enter into contention, racing far back throughout. SICKLE HOUR outran his field from the start, was racing along clear of his field when he bolted to the outside nearing the stretch and had to be taken up. Scratched 28282 Golden Scptre. 106.
