BOSTON MARY, a strong factor from the start, was pinched back at the far turn, improved her position when sent to the outside nearing the final quarter, bore put entering the stretch, but won easily. GLOWING COAL worked her way forward steadily, was sent through the field for the drive and finished strongly. HOCKING rushed into the lead, drew away after disposing of TRANSIT LADY, but tired fast in the last stages. TRANSIT LADY tired. AURA was outrun. WARDELL ORMONT quit. Scratched 24683 Bagen May, 105. BYLARIA was taken to the paddock when his jockey was struck on the head by HURRY HAWK. She broke well, moved up gradually on the inside, drew away into a good lead in the stretch, but tired badly at the end and just lasted. LEVI COOKE alternated in the pacemaking with CHEHALIS, came on again in the stretch and just failed to get up. CHEHALIS, well up all the way," took a short load in the back stretch, but tired in the last eighth. HURRY HAWK, fractious at the gate, reared in his stall and, lashing out with his front feet, struck BYLARIAS jockey on the head. HURRY HAWK broke well and was going gamely at the end. BEADLEMINT, TOCAYA and VOLSLEET had but little chance from the bad start.
