FINALE AT DUFFERIN PARK Spring Moon Triumphant in Sunny-side Purse, Feature of Saturdays Concluding Program. TORONTO, Ont., June 27. Spring Moon, fleet daughter of Frisius and Summer Moon, carrying the silks of the Erindale Stable, achieved her initial victory this season and smothered her opponents for speed in the Sunnyside Purse, a test of six and one-half furlongs under claiming conditions that served as the principal attraction for the final day of the Metropolitan Racing Association spring meeting that came to a successful termination at Dufferin Park before a large crowd. Picking up the feathery impost of 101 pounds and meeting five older performers in addition to a pair that were of her own age, the shifty brown filly led from end to end of the intermediate sprint and her triumph, that came by the safe margin of seven lengths, was one of the most popular victories of the day as she was the medium of confident backing. Worthing, a winner of his last two outings for the R. E. Leslie barn, was the one to finish second and third went to Royal Vintage when he took the measure of Circulet, Babe Gaiety, Tabher, Time Limit and Oiseau Noire. A large gathering was present for the final day of the spring series of the sport in the Toronto district and although all of the different races were under claiming conditions, the entertainment was excellent. Several of the leading racing stables in Ontario have forwarded applications for stabling accommodations to W. R. Woollatt for the ten-day meeting to be staged at Devonshire Park beginning July 8. According to advices received from the Diamond D. plant work is progressing rapidly in getting the plant into shape and it is expected that the reception of horses from close by Detroit will begin shortly.
