I LAT0NIA TURF NOTES I s : Grover Noel, trainer of the Mrs. Louise J. Hickman and B. O. Hickman thoroughbreds, is the proud father of an eight-pound boy. Both baby and mother are reported doing-nicely. Jockey Joe Cowley, one of the most successful of the older riders at Latonia, will accompany the stable of Frank P. Letellier to Arlington Park, where he will do the majority of the riding for that establishment. Lee Canfield, veteran reinsman, returned to Chicago by plane after visiting at Latonia, Friday. Jockey E. J. Barnes had his initial mount of the Latonia meeting when he was astride Jay D. in the fourth race on Saturdays program. J. M. Goode, trainer of the J. W. Parrish thoroughbreds, is making preparations for shipment of his charges to Arlington Park. However, he is undecided as to whether he will take the entire string of sixteen which he has at Latonia at present. The first issue of condition books for the Dade Park Jockey Club meeting, which begins August 8, was received at Latonia by paddock judge Tommy Oliphant. Stanley J. Sharp has decided to send Eddy Lee and Lastos to New Orleans at the close of the Latonia meeting, to be turned out until racing begins at that point next fall. Jockey J. Mattioli, who came over from Detroit to ride Hal Price Headleys Sparta in the Latonia Oaks, announced he would return to the Motor City Sunday and ride out the remainder of the meeting. Silk Mask, Bandalore, Hat Check, Batman, -Vm; Kentucky Blues, Lakeview, Cavour, Hill tti Girl, Exclaim, Amneris and Sojourn, comprise the Rosedale Stable, will be shipped to Arlington Park, according to trainer G. C. White. Apprentice Tommy Dickinson, who has been riding with good success, will accompany the stable. Martha Ellen Rogers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Rogers of Covington, Ky., will be married to jockey Tommy Sauter at Holy Cross Church here Monday morning. The newlyweds will leave immediately after the ceremony for Kansas City. Mo. The eighteen thoroughbreds Al Taylor is training for M. P. Murnans Graceland Stock Farm, are scheduled to be sent to Thistle Down after the close of the Latonia meeting E. A. Miller, who will serve as announcer on the public address system at Thistle Down, has received registration and stake blanks for that meeting. He distributed them to persons granted stall reservations at the Cleveland course.
