NERVOUS LADY displayed good speed and held on fairly well. BOILING dropped back when in close quarters soon after the start and was outrun to the stretch, then came very fast on the outside. MY MODEL outran HE DEVIL down the back stretch and, drawing away from the latter approaching the stretch turn, had enough left to hold OUR SPOT. The latter was always well up and closed resolutely. HE DEVIL, practically running loose when his rider was unable to control him, was in close quarters on the inside of the winner in the early stages and swerved all through the stretch. AMAZING came very fast after leaving the back stretch and, taking a short lead in the last sixteenth, cut to the rail to pick up the field and win under urging; ATHOLTON, closest to DOZANA in the early running, raced up gamely to challenge at mid-stretch and was forced to the rail by the winner near the end. LADY MARLBORO, after entering the stretch next to the rail, went gamely to the end despite being crowded when the winner came over. DOZANA set the pace, responded fairly well to punishment when challenged, but lost all chance when fouled by the winner in the last sixteenth and was forced to pull up. UNCLE FRED closed some ground. The latter was badly outrun for a half mile, then came very fast and, closing with a rush, would have won in a few more strides. QUIVER made Up ground in the stretch. BABY WRACK showed a fair effort. JUSTA HYMN tired badly in the stretch. JOSEPHINE D. was rushed to the front early and, after passing JUSTA HYMN, was taken in hand and again headed by the latter, lost all chance under weak handling.
