LITTLE MAXIE moved into the lead directly with the start, ran out when entering the stretch, but was straightened out quickly, came again and was up in the last fifty yards. LADY BRIAR held a prominent position from the beginning and held on with good courage in the final drive. PANTHER CREEK, breaking slower than usual, had a lot taken out of him getting to the front and tired badly ncaring the finish. SUGABOOT, squeezed back at the turn out of the back stretch, came again when clear and finished fast on the inside. BALKOS MAID broke very slowly and was unable to enter contention. RECKLESS was away slowly and was never a factor. MAEBOB tired in the stretch drive, as did CROONERETTE. SALLY QUICK displayed early speed. Scratched 32C51Fond Memories, 107; 34126Exhort, 106. WISE SISTER, a keen factor early, moved into the lead and, reaching the turn, was kept under severe pressure thereafter and drew out nicely approaching the finish. MUGGINS, outpaced for the first half mile, slipped through on the inside nearing the stretch and closed with good courage under punishment. AMPERSAND had to be stoutly ridden to reach the front, was-kept under severe urging, but tired in the last quarter mile. OLD FIELD closed full of run after lacking early speed. PATSEY BEGONE was strongly ridden and had no excuses. SINGING HEART was unable to reach the leaders. BRANDON MINT tired fast in the Jast three-sixteenths. THIRD RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. ARMY AND NAVY, badly outrun the first three-quarters, worked his way up rapidly in the last five-sixteenths and, closing with belated speed, was up in the last couple of strides. KENTY, rated close up in the early running, took command leaving the back stretch, shook off BABWRACK and BIAS, saved ground, but hung badly under a hard drive in the last sixteenth. BLACK BOO, slow to begin as usual, reached a forward position entering the stretch and fought it out gamely nearing the end. WATERMAN was squeezed back at the half-mile mark, recovered and came stoutly at the finish. PASSING EVE improved her position steadily in the last half mile. BABWRACK tired after being a strong factor for three-quarters. TEDDY THE BOLD was outrun. JACAMAR quit. Scratched 33861 Sumac, 107. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. MORE NEWS sprinted into a clear lead in the first quarter mile, was steadied until reaching the stretch, rallied to urging and had enough in reserve to stall off COUNT RAE. The latter, sluggish in the first half mile, raced to the inside when reaching the stretch and linislied determinedly under punishment. LADYS BEAU was rushed off her feet to reach contention, but held on gamely in the closing stages. LOVELY GIRL, forced to race to the outside from the beginning, tired in the closing eighth. SAVERNAKE raced evenly. BONNIE LOIS began tiring after going a half mile. CONQUER was unable to reach contention. SABULA was outrun. Overweight Ladys Beau, 2 pounds. Continued on twenty-third page. The latter, kept within striking distance of the leaders in the early running, moved up stoutly entering the stretch, but was unable to threaten the winner approaching the finish. ROUSTABOUT dropped far out of contention after the start, settled in his stride and closed with a tremendous rush after circling his company. LEMONT was hard ridden all the way, but was neld safe. FLAG OF WAR moved to the front immediately, was rated until challenged, but was unable to stay when collared. NAVAL CADET, slow to settle into his stride, finished stoutly in the last five-sixteenths. POMPOSITY raced in his best form, but could not reach the leaders. SNOBBY SCASlP took the lead entering the back stretch, lost command when reaching the half-mile mark, came again to regain the lead and, holding on resolutely, barely lasted to withstand GOLDEN VEIN. GOLDEN VEIN, rated close up early, drew on almost even terms with the winner in the last eighth and fought it out stoutly under a hard drive. WANDREL moved up gradually after going three-quarters, saved ground wherever possible and held on gamely in the final drive. POOP DECK began slowly, settled in his stride and finished full of run in the late stages. ENERGETIC LADY slipped through on the inside to move up menacingly midway of the final turn, but tired in the stretch drive. SIT OUT raced fonvardly placed early, but failed to rally when the real test came. CANPRA closed ground In the last quarter mile. MOON-PENNY had too much taken out of him cetting to the front and tired badly when forced to a drive.
