NOISETTE, in a contending position from the start, wore down GREEN IRIS on the final turn and drew clear to hold SANTA ROLO safe easily. The latter forced the pace of GREEN IRIS on the outside, came to the inside in the stretch and closed fast, but was not good enough. GREEN IRIS had speed from the start, took a short lead in the back stretch, raced slightly wide entering the stretch and tired. QUEENS COLOR, fractious at the post, was rated off the pace of the early leaders, came to the ouside of the field in the stretch and finished with good courage. EILEEN O., rated within reach of the early leaders, swung to the outside through the stretch, wore down MAPLE TINTS in the drive, but had to be kept under pressure to the finish Jo stall off UVIRA. The latter lacked speed to match the early leaders, moved up swiftly on the turn and finished fast. MAPLE TINTS had nice early speed, raced COLORED ARTIST into submission on the final turn, but tired. CUP WINNER gradually bettered his position after a quarter mile, but hung at the end. COLORED ARTIST had speed while racing with MAPLE TINTS, saved ground on the rail through the stretch, but faltered at the end. GALTHEA raced evenly, but could not better her position. DOER made up some ground after being sluggish in the early stages. BABE GAIETY lost ground steadily. PEACE TOKEN appeared to dislike the going and did not enter contention. CALICO MISS had her usual early speed to go to the front at once, shook off BIG FISH in the stretch drive and just lasted to hold SHEPHERD BOY safe. The latter, always in a contending position, moved up stoutly on the outside through the stretch and just failed to get up. BIG FISH forced the early pace of CALICO MISS, challenged stoutly in the stretch, but tired slightly. GOGGLES gradually bettered his position in the early racing, secured racing room on the inside entering the stretch and finished stoutly. NOBLE SPIRIT made up some ground. PHILDIA quit. BOSSIE ElE, sluggish in the early racing, moved up stoutly after three-quarters and finished well. STORMER had good speed, but quit. HARDY BAN raced evenly. SASS had early speed, but quit.
