f CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES S C. E. Gross has Prince Dean, Dixie Flapper, Peggy Torch and Flaming Torch here for Clyde Van Dusen, and Sweet Tody and Toneys Girl for Mrs. E. A. Gross. They were at River Downs. C. Bruce Head was unable to serve in the stewards stand for the opening, being confined to his home by a recurrence of the illness from which he suffered at Lincoln Fields. Jockey A. Morgan, who was injured In an automobile accident in Arkansas earlier in the week, was an arrival. He is still suffering from an injured leg and jaw and will be unable to ride for several weeks. - Smith has resumed training Old EH for Ballard and Shannon. Roscoe Goose had the horse at Keeneland. Auval Baker is training Recussion and Brook Trout for A. B. Hancock, and Revel-stoke for J. C. Milam, having brought those horses here from Lexington. The stable trained by Smith G. Baker for the estate of R. L. Baker includes Squall, Prince Vic, Yantis, Prince Phiz. Cherokee Red, Jack W., Janecke and Glowset. It rested here since the close of Lincoln Fields. Leo Niles brought the horse3 Night Flower. Oh Ray. Hio and Ariel Gold here from Sportsmans Park.
