NEW ORLEANS TURF NOTES 4 Gordon Morrow, who served as custodian of the jockeys quarters at Epsom Downs, motored to New Orleans, arriving Wednesday. Morrow will remain here throughout the winter as an attache of the jockey quarters. Word was received from G. R. Wingfield that he will stop off in New Orleans for keveral days of fishing with Johnny Mor-rissey. Fair Grounds starter, who is already on the scene. Wingfield is dispatching the fields at River Downs at present. After an absence of many .years from winter racing in New Orleans, B. A. Chapman has expressed his intention to return to the Crescent City at the conclusion of the Maryland season and has reserved accommodations for twelve horses. The combined stables of George LaFlesh and A. E. Silver, of which the latter named is the trainer,, is among the first, of the prominent stables to arrive from Texas. The following horses were unloaded at the Louisiana Jockey Clubs track: First Entry, Mine Boy, Lockstep, Sweet Susan, Wild Pigeon, Scintilla, Countess Mario, Broadway Maid and Burning Billows. Jockey Francis Mas-chek, a New Orleans boy, will do the bulk of the stables riding, while apprentice W. L. Snyder is also with the outfit. Former jockey Johnny Zoeller, who has adopted New Orleans as his home, is among the early arrivals and will campaign Prosy, Miles Standish, St Ives, Alaric, Masked Coelia and Greenock Queen during the Fair Grounds meeting Miles Standish is the only member of the group which Zoeller raced , ; here during the past season. The others i have been acquired during the summer. A.-C. Kort, young Kansas City sportsman, ! who raced Jim Ned with success throughout . the Fair Grounds, meeting last season, was an arrival from Riverside Park with a pair of juveniles, which he. .regards highly.
