SEABISCUIT STARTER TODAY Scheduled to Carry 124 Pounds in ,000 Added Exposition Handicap at Tanforan. SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 9 Thirteen handicap horses of considerable ability have been named to do battle in the ,000 added Exposition Handicap at Tanforan Saturday afternoon. Heading the list of equine luminaries is Seabiscult from the Howard barn and backing him up in the star cast is Indian Broom, Special Agent, Grand Manitou, Don Roberto, Rushaway and others whose names have drawing power. With fair weather and a fast track, it is expected that at least ten will parade to the post and Seabiscuit with 124 pounds on his back will have to be an outstanding horse to win. Special Agent and Indian Broom are coupled and the former,, because of his speed, is deemed best at the mile and a sixteenth distance. Were the race a sixteenth farther, Indian Broom would loom as the chief charger for the Taylor Stable, but Special Agent, because of his tremendous speed, is looked upon as the main dependence of the barn. Jockey Jack Pollard, who rode Seabiscuit in his Santa Anita Handicap engagement, will be astride the Howard horse, Saturday, while Noel Richardson, an experienced and dependable pilot, will be on Special Agent George Woolf may ride Indian Broom. All three boys are veterans of the saddle. Although Seabiscuit and the Taylor entry get the call, there will be a number of turf followers "sweet" on the chances of Grand Manitou and Don Roberto. Grand Manitou, the French horse, which finished second to Seabiscuit on the closing day of the Santa Anita meeting, should improve off that race, while Don Robertos effort in the Santa Anita Handicap was a sparkler. Practically the same field of horses that will race in the Exposition Handicap will go to the post in the 0,000 Marchbank Handicap one week hence and with the result of the Exposition Handicap "in the book," weights can be so adjusted so as to make the Marchbank a sparkling contest.
